Who We Are & Why We Farm
Welcome to 4:11 Farms! We’re a faith-based family farm in Kentucky, and we’re grateful you’ve taken the time to stop by. You might be asking, “Who is 4:11 Farms and why does it matter to me?” Honestly, we’re nobody special. Just a husband-and-wife team who felt called to farm with purpose.
Our Faith-Based Family Farm in Kentucky
You won’t see a bunch of selfies or flashy videos from us. It’s not that we don’t want to connect with you — we do. We just believe the farm and the food should speak louder than our faces. Our hope is that 4:11 Farms becomes a name you can trust for good food, and that it outlives us by a long shot.
We began this journey in the spring of 2025, inspired by folks like Joel Salatin at Polyface Farms. In fact, his work showed us there’s a better way — a way to farm that heals the land instead of wearing it out. Farming, to us, isn’t just an occupation. It’s a way of living slow, intentional, and fully dependent on God and His creation.
Why We Farm Differently
Our goal is simple: farm like our grandparents did. That means raising animals and growing food in harmony with the land. Every choice we make — from what we feed our chickens, to how we plant vegetables, to the space we give our animals — is made with care. We believe God made us stewards of the land, and it’s our job to leave it better than we found it.
What We’re Raising Right Now
Right now, we’re raising Cornish Cross meat chickens, laying hens for eggs, and a variety of seasonal produce.
We plan to grow, however, not at the expense of quality. We’d rather do a few things well than cut corners. Our dream is to offer you food that’s not only delicious but food you can feel good about serving your family.
Our Faith at the Center
We’re not perfect farmers — we’re learning as we go. We’ll make mistakes, but we’ll keep moving forward. Through this blog, we’ll share updates, projects, tips, and even giveaways. Think of it as an open window into our farm life, where you can follow along, learn with us, and hopefully feel more connected to where your food comes from.
We also know this kind of food isn’t for everyone. Our prices are higher than what you’ll find in the grocery store. We get that not everyone is in a place to buy from us, and that’s okay. Even if you can’t shop with us right now, you’re still welcome here. We’ll be sharing gardening advice, poultry care tips, building projects, and plenty more. Our hope is to build more than customers — we want a community.
We’re learning as we go, and we’ll put in the work. But at the end of the day, we know it’s not our effort alone that makes this farm grow. As Scripture says, “So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the increase” (1 Corinthians 3:7). Our hope rests in Him.
